Start your Voyage - Apply Now Get to Know the OpportunityVoya IM is looking for an individual to join its Data Management - Control Team to assist in its efforts to ensure the quality of investment data across the proprietary and externally-managed assets within the organization. This position requires individuals to reconcile and provide meaningful analysis regarding investment data at the security master level, holding/position level and trade/transaction level between the various accounting systems, trading systems, and data warehouses in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. The successful candidate should have strong analysis to understand exceptions noted for resolutions and effectively communicate related issues to our business partners. This position plays a critical role in evaluating the integrity of data in support of Voya's data governance mandate.The position will sit in Voya Middle Office operation team and will require working with both Internal (to include Senior management) and External parties (to include Custodian relationship and Counterparties) when it comes to various reconciliations between sources.The Contributions You'll Make:Main responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain relationship and play a lead role in dealing with outsource providers (Voya India), vendors (BNY relationship as it relates to the outsourced TriOptima platform in particular).
  • Oversee deliverables of outsource providers to include providing feedback to and engaging with stakeholders like Custodian for resolution of observed exceptions.
  • Interact with various internal areas of the investment lifecycle (middle office operations, cash operations, accounting, portfolio, and asset management) to monitor compliance with data policies, establish control processes, and develop procedures for exception reporting. Favorable relationships should be maintained with the teams.
  • Reconcile data between and within systems in a timely and accurate manner. The data sources include but is not limited to the following: Blackrock Aladdin, DMI, PAM, FINDUR, Data Store, Oncore, and TriOptima counterparty reconciliation.
  • Oversee daily monthly positions reconciliations between Voya and Custodians to include resolution of trade breaks across multiple asset classes, including Equity, Fixed Income, OTC Derivatives, and Futures.
  • Perform daily and monthly quality control functions to ensure integrity of data including Investigation of outages to facilitate solutions to data integrity issues.
  • Run quality checks on data and review DEM Exceptions for permanent resolution.
  • Support year-end and mid-year audits with external and internal auditors for General Accounts.
  • Recommend and implement new/improved controls and procedural enhancements.
  • Document department processes and maintain desk procedures.
  • Support systems initiatives and development efforts and new initiatives including any testing, parallels, and specification input.
  • Exhibit strong accountability and focus on execution.
  • Take a lead in Cross-training plans/efforts of peers.
  • Promote a cheerful outlook and working environment among fellow employees and develop efficient working relationships.
  • Flexible to support Voya's month-end close schedule in support of our business partners as needed.
  • Assist with the improvement of a Middle Office data control team framework.Minimum Knowledge & Experience: The Control Team Sr. Operations Specialist will engage with other individuals across the firm and be a trusted advisor and partner. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be client-driven and offer unique solutions that deliver on their expectations. In addition, the ideal candidate will be thoughtful in analyzing data and problem-solving data exceptions to reach a well-reasoned solution. In this role, the specialist will be open to new ways of thinking and willing to acquire new skills to retain a competitive advantage and offer solutions for process improvements. Ideally, the candidate should have the following experience and qualification:
    • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, quantitative analysis, business administration or equivalent work experience
    • 3-5 years of investment and business analysis experience
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of various investment vehicles (Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives, Equities and Mutual Funds) and required operational support to process and account for such instruments.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with investment software/Applications like Aladdin, Oncore, FINDUR, Strategy, IM Datastore; and office systems like WebFOCUS, SQL Server Management Studio, Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
    • Adaptable to work in an ever-changing multi-tasked environment with high priorities, varying workloads, and strict deadlines.
    • Ability to resolve problems utilizing resources independently and creatively inside and outside the Firm.
    • Maintains strong working relationships with peers, supervisors, project leaders, and internal/external clients.
    • Excellent team interaction and people skills (verbal and writing skills) - as this individual will interact with many distinct parts and levels of the VOYA organization (peers, supervisors, project leaders, and internal/external clients.)
    • Highly purposeful with ability to work under pressure, stay organized, meet deadlines, and maintain focus.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
