Job Description:
A company is looking for a Physician Advisor to conduct clinical
case reviews and ensure effective utilization of healthcare
services.
Key Responsibilities
Conducts medical record reviews for medical necessity of hospital
admissions and continued stays
Communicates with case management and medical staff regarding
patient care and appropriate levels of care
Acts as a consultant for attending physicians on hospitalization
appropriateness and clinical documentation
Qualifications
MD or DO required
Unrestricted license in the state of Texas required
Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice required
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physician Advisor
preferred
In-depth knowledge of CMS regulations and utilization management
experience
