Ensures manufacturing of products and semi-finished products in
his/her assigned cluster within Surface Treatment in compliance
with safety, shift productivity goals as well as internal and
external quality specifications. Leads and motivates the team in
his/her assigned cluster to achieve set goals. Oversees the
finishing of metal parts according to procedure by performing the
following duties:
Shift(s) Available:
1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) Monday through Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities within his/her assigned
cluster in accordance with the company's policies. Responsibilities
include planning, assigning, and directing work.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Demonstrates leadership skills by promoting team cohesion and
motivating team members
Ensures overall manufacturing output goals are achieved in his/her
area of responsibility (cluster) in compliance with manufacturing
deadlines and delivery schedules by allocating personnel, setting
up the equipment, re-working parts and personally supporting
troubleshooting efforts as required.
Mentors other team members to achieve set goals, improve quality
and communication
Help with workflow by identifying bottlenecks and promptly
communicating status with Shift Supervisors.
Promptly communicates equipment and personnel issues to the Shift
Supervisor.
Promptly performs booking operations and ensures reported
quantities are correct.
Supports all LEAN activities within his/her assigned cluster,
especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 5S
principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process
improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to
achieve highest quality standards
Supports execution of regular and effective preventive maintenance
according to established working instructions and maintenance
schedules.
Supports the execution of training plans for Operators in
compliance with established working instructions and procedures
Ensures compliance to ISO-, OSHA- and Environmental Protection
regulatory and ensures highest safety standards in his/her area of
responsibility (cluster)
Perform adjustments related with machine settings. Analyses part
measurements to determine adjustments needed.
Uses measuring equipment such as microscope, optical comparator,
roughness testers, hardness tester, etc. Analyses results and takes
appropriate action
Review measurement reports to assess product conformity and
necessary corrections.
Perform re-works on machine and off machine.
Effectively uses hand tools such as files and hand reamers to
de-bur parts while maintaining product conformity.
Performs often and through visual inspections to identify issues as
early in the production process as possible.
Communicates with Shift Supervisors and/or Area Leads potential
issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including
equipment and product issues.
Communicates with Shift Supervisors, Area Leads and Operators
relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite
production process at shift change.
Flexible work schedule.
Must be present in regular attendance including the time
before/after shift in order to carry out effective shift
handoffs.
Position may require occasional training trips offsite or overseas
(Austria).

treatment processes or machines

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Employee is
required bend and squat to lift or move boxes (up to 40 lbs.). The
employee is required to use fingers and hands to work on products.
Personal Protective Equipment is required for safety. Flexible work
schedule.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are
representative of those an employee encounters while performing the
essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne
particles. Noise levels in the work environment are usually
moderate to occasionally loud. The facility is indoor climate
controlled. All machines have machine guarding as well as strict
safety practices.
